Going to see the 'family' tonight
And it'll be a laugh alright
We're only together once in a while
But rest assured, we'll do it in style
'Mum' will have been cooking all day
Her food's fantastic, for her curries I pray
My 'brother' and I will get straight on the beer
Usually gets a bit messy I fear
'Sisters' arrive with hubbies in tow
They're the coolest women I know
Sometimes it seems half of Essex is here
To attend the social event of the year
The kids'll be playing and making some noise
Girls will spend time talking about boys
And it's here that I really feel at home
Even though it's not my own
My missus knows, she understands
I'll be late home, but I'm in safe hands
But it's all good fun and harmless you see
And if you were to come looking for me
You'll probably find me on their lawn
Having drunk thru the night and into the dawn
