At a garden party
Lots of people here
I don't really know them
Paralysed by social fear
They're all really friendly
And I'm drinking their beer
BBQ is roaring
What am I doing here
There's more people to come
Hope they pass me by
Please leave me alone
I'm unbelievably shy
With people that I know
I'm absolutely fine
I really cannot deal with
More than one stranger at a time
I know it's really silly
For they have welcomed me
It's one of the worst parts
Of being LeeLee

I've never experience shyness, but my partner struggles in exactly the same way in social situations. Just remember Lee, you've got a wonderful mind & I'm sure it would be a pleasure to engage in conversation with you. And if all else fails-get pissed! 😉😘😘
I struggle socially. I always hve to put on a social mask and pretend. It's draining but gets me through. Huge points for actually going in the first place!😍👍
My hubby is exactly the same...he is paralysed with fear when he doesn't know people, he won't get eye contact, when he talks he puts his hand over his mouth almost like he's trying to hide behind it as he talks...yet with those he knows well or peeps he feels comfortable with he is completely different...just drink the beer and enjoy🍺🍺🍺🍺
@sjw @Fly10 @ckahn @RichWithey @minxyMolly @misslittleDHP @Stablish I try, you know? But the small talk just peters out almost instantly and everyone thinks I've got the hump. The silly thing is that is doesn't take too much to get to know me well enough. Anyway I just went off to the loo and wrote this 👍😊
