How do know what's real and what clearly isn't?
How do you know each new day brings a truth
How can you tell it isn't cloak and dagger, smoke and mirrors
Physicality the one and only proof
How can you tell that as the sun is rising
It isn't held in place by invisible wire
What's superior knowledge worth as it crashes down to Earth
To make our little rock one massive funeral pyre
How do you know that God don't walk among us
Laughing because he goes unrecognised
Does the Devil hold his hand as they move across the land
Will your faith remain unpressurised
How do you know the world is really turning
Do you stand still as it moves beneath your feet
How do you know from looking, the taste of what you're cooking
And whether or not the taste is bittersweet
How do you know that lightness equals daytime
And that inky icy blackness brings the night
The change between the two is only hours, and while that's true
How can you really know what's truly right
How do you know you're not beneath a blindfold
Relying on what you know time and again
What if it's turned around, topsy-turvy, upside down?
How and what on earth will you do then...
