Came around this morning, still feeling comatose
For I like to sleep at night, as everybody knows
Turning on the iPhone, saw a sight to make you weep
Maybe I imagined it, eyes still full of sleep
No, it seems it is the truth, two Opussians gone
Leaving everybody wondering how the hell to carry on
I won't rake up the story, I'm sure you've read the posts
If this goes on much longer there'll be nothing left but ghosts
Plagiarism, dirty pool, if it's true she's not alone
Late last night another piece by someone, not their own
Like if you like, don't if you don't, comment if you wish
Maybe follow the little guys, not just the bigger fish
Reach the top? Get ready to drop, prepare yourself for the fall
(thank you Depeche Mode)
I know what that's like but it's just a number after all
I touched upon it yesterday, to carry on the fight
Grab a pen, an idea or two, and just begin to write
As for our dear departed, there is no kiss and tell
I will miss 'em both, so I'll bid a fond farewell
In the meantime, if there's stuff that's filling up your head
Get over here to Opuss, and write it down instead!

@Fly10 thanks hun and for the RP too. And thanks to Depeche Mode. Ironically that line is from a song called Get The Balance Right... X
@leelee101 @Fly10 @PoppyA another heads up??? @DamianBlack is aleisha!!! Go read damians post comments in post "mistake" then you may understand the other game aleisha plays. Sorry it came to all this people but can't stand by while plagiarism goes on here and who's to say she not taking our posts and posting them on a website somewhere????
@smellyfingers I'm not surprised at all & have had my suspicions for a while over a few things, but didn't have the proof. How fucking sad. I've no doubt there are other 'authors' who are actually her too. I've commented about the whole debacle on several posts & advises people that I've reported her for at less three plagiarised pieces-& those are only the ones I immediately know of. It's happened with another person last night & is beyond a joke now. A no-tolerance policy surely has to be introduced for all posts flagged as copied? Please don't leave-won't be the same without you & your work π
@Fly10 I know it's very sad. The dino pic fiasco he got a warning, then the other post that was deleted she got another warning, then I find out she is DamianBlack!!! Jesus talk about rub people's noses in it!! She having like a 3 way convo with herself and still trying to claim her innocence and pulling my posts apart to make her own, that's a fact!! So, if she doing this on opuss, I'd say chances are high it's happening on websites too, which makes me think, opuss has no zero tolerance and being as she is nos: 1 new members may think its ok to plagiarism ect!!! When the opuss bosses should be protecting us, the real writers and spirit of the community, without us there would be no opuss and IMO copyright rules should be nos:1 priority given that this app is aimed at writers you'd think we would be protected (true date/time on all posts would do that IMO) and I'm all for given others a 2nd chance, I got over the dino pic and was liking and re-posting some of her posts, then she done that blatant copy/paste plagiarism again and now DamianBlack?? Jesus Christ!!!
@smellyfingers Like I said-it's a joke. I emailed after the boss after American Eweth saga, & I actually assumed (probably like you) that he'd shut her down, or at LEAST remove her from Top Spot. I was surprised & disillusioned when that didn't happen. But the way she then brazenly posted & raved about new 'friends' really pissed me off, so I sent a further email-still no action. I fully understand the uphill battle that the creators of this app have. But as you say, on a writing app, plagiarism is surely the number one priority. I'll be SO pissed if I see my work elsewhere. @Seamonster-is my work protected?!
There needs to be some kind of terms thing you click agree on when you sign up to warn that plagiarism is a legal offence. Once you have agreed to this you legally agree to not copy anyone's work, otherwise you could be prosecuted. The problem is many people think this law only applies to published writers and it doesn't. By putting your work on here you are effectively publishing it and therefore hold its copyright ( when it's original work of course!) and can therefore legally sue those who copy it. I'm disgusted that people are copying others work and getting all the credit...are their egos really that in need of praise?
@smellyfingers @leelee101 It's obvious & I honestly think there are other 'authors' she's disguised as too. Remember Jatt?! Same thing again, only this time, it worked well enough to get someone to No 1 spot π
@smellyfingers @Fly10 I think secretly everyone likes to know they're doing well, I'll make no secret that I was pleased to hit the no. 1 spot, but I knew the reason I stay with this app is because once I started writing, I found that I enjoyed it and just wanted to carry on. So that's what I do. If the ranking system wasn't there, I'd have still carried on in the same way, cos I'm enjoying myself writing. Although I don't know anyone here personally, I think most of you who have had the good grace to have a read of my stuff know enough about me by now to know that.
In my email to the boss, one point I made is that if there IS to be a ranking system, there are others in the Top 10 more deserving who don't cheat! For genuine authors who perhaps do like a challenge, then climbing the ranks I can see may be a goal they wish to achieve. But that just fails if they're superseded by others who are simply obsessed with recognition & don't play fair. After all-you were knocked off top spot because of such deceptionπ π‘ Love your work, so just crack onππ
@Fly10 @leelee101 I totally agree! I only started writing 3 months ago, only had 10 songs/poems before opuss. Of course lee we all want recognition and others to read our work, it's natural. It's very sad that others feel the need to compete seek that much attention they will do anything, pressure maybe or lack of talent on their part perhaps? I only want what's best for opuss and to protect the talent that is here, listening to eminem can get me into trouble lol. @Fly10 Seamonster tells me he has only received 1 email from you babe, he's not sure why and I'd a little confused?? Also aleisha and DamianBlack accounts have been deleted. Zero tolerance policy on plagiarism is in force and on its way π
@smellyfingers The day of the American Eweth debacle, I sent several detailing what had gone on & then two follow ups, reinforcing my views on how it should be dealt with. This morning I've sent a further one to back all that up-I've kept them all, so can always resend if need be. Re no.1 spot, I don't think pressure came into it in this case, I believe it was psychotic obsession. No one can weave such a web & be right in the head, in my opinion. It seems perhaps her endless bleating about no friends in the real world was perhaps true, & that like others sadly these days, she gained status & popularity in cyber world, where she could hide her true self. Sad way to be π
@Fly10 I know babe, I'm just passing on a message from boss man,who says he only received 1 email from you, I have no idea why!!! And yes I agree some people are psychotic with too much time on their hands and enjoy their sick twisted petty games!! ππ
@leelee101 American Eweth was the poem A.Gayle copied & posted as her own, following the Dino incident she'd already blaggedπ
