Every sleepy child
In a lone spacious room,
Spies a scary human,
Lurking in the gloom.
The cupboard is a danger,
The window sill a threat.
Clutching a faithful teddy,
The child breaks into a sweat.
Killers lurk quietly,
Kidnappers by their side.
Thieves there also,
Along for the ride.
They watch the young victim,
Sobbing like a stuck tape.
Then on comes the light...
It was just a silly shape.
When you kiss goodnight,
To your whimpering child,
Think of all the dangers,
Lurking in the wild.
