Lucy stormed out of the room and saw me standing there. She gave me a sorry look and went downstairs. Jenna was just sitting on the bed trying to redeem herself from the embarrassment, she had no idea I was standing there as her back was me. I walked in trying not to let her realise I was there, and once I had reached her she turned around to walk out as if nothing had happened. I slapped her. I had no idea where it came from but she had just wrecked my best friends relationship and what made It worse was the fact that she was meant to be our best friend too!
The four of us together, we had been best friends since we were 3, we met in play school and were friends instantly, all the other girls at the play school wanted to come and play with us but we wouldn’t let them, it was us four and that was the way we liked it. Every weekend since the age of 7 we would stay over each others houses taking it in turns who's house. We did the lot make overs, movies, junk food, gossip, talk about the guys we liked and the rest of us would rate them, who we thought made good couples and who didn't. And when one of us needed it we would look after them. Last year, Lucy's mum was diagnosed with cancer and Lucy was devastated, we had never been closer and we all looked after both her and her mum and did whatever we could to help them through it. When she recovered and had won her battle we through a little party for her mum, because she was like a second mum to us. We had grown up living in her house as well as our own and she knew just as much about me and the other girls as our mums did. To think after all that Jenna could still go and do this to Chloe. She knew along with the rest of us how much Chloe liked Joe!! At the sleepovers every week we would talk about it, for months Joe's name would always pop up in conversation about who one of fancied and of course Chloe did. When they finally got together, she made sure he didn’t take over her time and she still stayed over every week but she had spent the day with him and often text him during the night. We didn't mind, we were happy for her, she was happy. Jenna was always asking what they had been up to and if they had gone any further than the past week, she always seemed to be interested in their love life. Looking back she might have been too interested. She had just told Lucy how she had been instigating an affair to start and that's probably why she wanted to know how things were. If they were having any problems that would make Joe quite open for another relationship on the side. Poor Chloe, how were we going to tell her.
I walked out of the room leaving Jenna on the bed with a red hand print on her cheek from the slap but I didn't care. I no longer wanted anything to do with her. In that one moment she had completely ruined our friendship, and her friendship with Lucy and most of all Chloe, over a boy!! I went to the bathroom to wash my face, to check I looked okay and not worried otherwise Chloe would know something was up. As I walked in, I saw Lucy standing by the sink doing exactly the same,
'What are we going to do?!' She wailed
'I have no idea' I said trying not to cry
The two of us decided to walk back downstairs together and talk to Joe and Chloe, she deserved to know and he wasn't going to tell her any time soon, but there was no need to make a scene of it and let everyone else find out at the same time as Chloe did. So we left the bathroom and trudged towards the stairs looking over the banister trying to find them both and we soon saw them, making out in the corner. That scumbag showing no remorse…
