It was raining again.
The world had turned dingy, smokey, and bleak.
Again.
The incident yesterday at the hospital seemed a far away memory in this place.
"Sam!"
The voice called out, my head whipped round looking for the voice.
"Sam you there!"
I think I mumbled something for I saw a shadow of a female form running towards me.
"Sam! Move!"
I didn't understand what she was doing.
Who was she?
How did she know me?
"SAM GET AWAY! RUN!"
Suddenly shadow figures rushed out and grabbed her.
My training kicked in as I ran towards her.
"NOOOOOOo SAM RUN!"
She was screaming as she saw me coming towards her.
I stopped suddenly.
I tried running towards her, but something stopped me,
And I was trapped to watch.
I tried banging against the invisible screen, struggling against the invisible arms holding me back,
But nothing worked.
So I stood there watching them struggle to contain her.
One whipped out his gun pressing it to her head.
She stopped suddenly and looked up.
Her eyes ridden with pain and anger.
Yet still I could not see her or the attackers clearly.
"Goodbye Sam"
"NOOOOO!"
My voice ripped out of me as the bullet left the gun.
Just as quick my eyes snapped open,
to find myself on the shower floor naked as the day I'd been born.
My heart pounding, throat dry, and if possible sweat would of drenched my skin.
The bang of the gun still rang in my ears.
Clenching my hands tightly over the lost life of the unknown girl.
My anger leapt out breaking tile and skin.
The rain...or the shower water washed it all, blood, darkness, pain down the drain.
I stood up and left the shower area to bandage my hand.
Looking over in the mirror I noticed something behind me.
A note.
I turned round instantly wary.
Before looking at the note I checked every nook and cranny to make sure this time I was truly alone.
Very aware of the fact that whoever left the note came in here whilst I was out.
I opened up the note, and a single card fell out.
It was the tarot card for death.
On it the symbol for the religious faith drawn all over it.
I picked the note back up to see the words YOU KNOW!
Written largely and boldly across the paper.
I knew what?
What did I know?
Something wasn't right about this,
Intuition flooded me...warning me I shouldn't get involved further...
But whoever left this,
left it for a reason.....
