A long, twisting path lays ahead,
Out and over the horizon it does spread,
Lined by trees and shrubs so green,
Looking out,
excited and keen,
My walk is slow,
but sometimes I run,
Obstacles can be difficult or fun,
The roots of a giant crushed the bricks,
But I looked out and thought
- I don't quit,
Leaping over the roots,
never looking back,
Chasing along,
with ducks that go quack,
The road before me knowing it's goal,
It has a secret connection to my soul,
With dragons to love,
and fairies to sing with,
And one to forge my heart,
a sweet blacksmith,
Our paths run together for a while,
We swim across lakes and seas,
run more miles,
But soon there is a crossroad,
I turn left,
He turns right,
separated hearts but for the best,
Not meant to be,
but we taught each to love,
Time to walk on,
and admire the blue sky above,
Looking back once,
but that's enough,
My path still knows where to go,
it might still be tough,
Challenges already passed, strength made,
I look to the horizon,
Awaiting my path laid.
