I'm looking at you,
Wondering what I see,
Deep pools of blue and green,
Sometimes chestnut or gold are seen.
I'm looking at you,
And I wonder what lies behind,
Those swirling eyelashes that shadow them,
The two shining jewels, those gems.
They almost make me believe in the soul,
That it's something that can make you feel whole,
I can't help but be captivated,
While your eyes look out so well activated,
There is nothing else about you,
That really makes you seem so full,
The rest of you, beautiful, but not as enticing,
Not so mysterious,
Or inviting.
I'm looking at you,
And I wonder about your eyes,
I want to know what behind them lies,
There is some mysterious prize,
Just waiting to be unwrapped and treasured,
Something that can never, ever be measured.
