Royal Ghosts

Translucent kisses laid down,
As silent sacrifice,
On this now-cold crown,
The peace of our mistrust,
Slow, sensual metal at rust,
Won't you believe and see,
At first light,
you will leave me
For the darkness beckons
Close your twisted soul,
As I try, relentlessly,
to make it whole,
The torture of all these
ruined things,
Make me fly away on
broken wings,

Swat away the
history of blood,
Rub the crimson
into the mud,
Release a spirit from its curse
and plump lips
from a silent purse,
The night's kings
and queens,
Fuelled by spectres
and dreams,
Have come to claim back their realms,
Now saddle your knights, shine your helms,
For darkness calls and spirits overwhelm.

Deepwell House

#nightdwellers. There's a derelict place at the end of the lane. A place that once housed the criminally insane. Bars on the cracked windows and rusty locks on the doors.

The Crimson Trail

#nightdwellers. The crimson trail disappeared. Into the night as I had feared. Had I found it by the day. I might at least have made my way. But I found myself by moonlight's side.
