'well...' the nurse said, focusing all her attention on the monitor in front of her, 'it looks like your having a little girl.' she said turning to smile at us. Adams eyes lit up and he hugged me fiercely. 'she's going to be so beautiful.' he whispered to me. I stroked my belly and said 'hello baby Amelie.' Adam kissed me cradling my face. I could feel his hands quivering with excitement.
We walked back to the hotel where my dad and Lucy were waiting. They all lept up from where they were sitting in the cafe, when they saw us. Mum beamed at my dad and walked over and took his hand. 'we are having a girl.' Adam exclaimed, Lucy wrapped her arms around both of us, squealing excitedly. My dad came over and hugged me, I'm so proud of you.' he whispered, his voice catching. Adams phone began to ring and he walked outside to answer it. I followed him, wanting to be close to him after the special news. He hung up and turned to me, 'that was my dad,' he said 'he booked a flight to come and surprise us, he has just landed.' I saw some of the sadness that had clouded his eyes, since the day he talked to his mum, lift as he spoke. 'that's great Adam.' I said standing on my tiptoes and grazing my lips against his. He reluctantly broke away to go and get his dad. I walked back inside to discuss baby things with Lucy.
I was sitting on the bed reading the pregnancy book, when I heard talking outside the door and then the soft beep as the keycard opened the door. Adams dad walked in and pulled me into a hug. 'you're getting big Abby.' he joked. Then Alex walked in with Adam. I looked around them to see if Adams mum had come. 'she didn't come Abby.' Adam said softly, I felt my shoulders sag slightly at the rejection of our child. I hugged my arms around my bump protectively. 'how for along are you?' Alex asked. 'umm about a month and a bit.' I said. We all talked about the baby and things that had happened since we last saw each other. They left us at about 9:30, I yawned as the door clicked shut, stretching out my back. I padded into the bathroom, I lifted my shirt so that my tummy showed and stood sideways onto the mirror, Adam crept up behind me and wrapped his arms around me, his hands spread across my stomach. I inhaled sharply as his cool hands connected with my warm stomach, leaning into him. He started kissing my neck suggestively. I pushed him away, shaking my head and indicating towards my tummy. Instead I kissed him lightly, a kiss that held promise and love.
