Stefan was climbing up the trunk of the tree, his body aching after each move. He could feel Lydia's blood drenching his clothes, he could her soft groans of discomfort. But finally, he reached the top of the tree, Jenna and the others close behind him.
"Where's the exit?" Tashie asked, narrowing her eyes.
Jenna smiled and pointed to the sky.
"There." she smiled.
The others looked at where she was pointing. On the side of the tree, not too far away, was a puffy white cloud. The cloud was level with the top of the tree, easy to step on.
"Do we have to walk on that?" Tashie asked, her voice quivering.
"Yes." Jenna grimaced. "But there is a limit."
"What do you mean?" Stefan asked.
"Only five people can escape once a month. It's very complicated." Jenna murmured. "So," she said brightly, "who wants to stay?"
