Masked Motives

Revolutions rampant in all the world
The flags of destruction have been unfurled
All the while bombs are being hurled
Under the weight of death the bodies are curled

Blood quenches the thirst of the dead
Not physically; but absent in the head
Full of violence; all they see is red
Hate and greed is what they have been fed

Corruption rules in governments
Greed rots the core of the establishment
Democracy is not what they ever meant
Only the tyrants are made eloquent

Politics ruled by an iron fist
Like the third reich but with a darker twist
Truth is lost in all the fog and mist
The question is do you get the jist

We are powerless in a powerplay
In a world of speaking, we have no say
Our freedom deteriorates day by day
And all the while governments play

They play for money; they play for oil
They pay all the corrupt and all those who are loyal
From the pockets of the poor and those who toil
Forever will the tyrannous be royal

Bodies in the earth and blood in the air
Bullets fly like birds but no one cares
To confront corruption no one dares
To speak of freedom will only earn you stares

Im called crazy; Im labelled as insane
For seeing things that bring us all pain
For knowing things that are the peoples bane
For observing the hatred in my veins

Without the truth, I see my life
With my sustinence; I feel the strife
No matter how dull it is Im cut by the knife
Im feeling strong when pain is rife

Im feeling right when Im doin wrong
My life feels short no matter how long
Ive been on this planet; an enduring song
I feel high without touching a bong

I see the freedom in our chained society
I see the independence fade when we are free
Happiness is extinguished and replaced with misery
I see no longer when I really need to see

Fear takes control of a mind once at rest
Anxiety and pain are working at thier best
My soul is trying hard to pass this test
And even then I think I'll end up like the rest

Souless and yet a souls in me
Imprisoned now and yet Im free
Blinded at the time to see
They blame me but it was he

Awoken

It's safe to pretend. To follow their lead. It's best to play along. The illusion game of greed. For when the veil is lifted. When the masks are removed. You'll see the board for the pieces.

In the Dark

They say love is blind but hate is blinding. You speak of what you forgot with no need of reminding. Me of what I lost on a road so winding. In the dark hate is all Im finding.
