The air is crisp,
The light is reflective.
I sit and watch it bounce off the water
Like a secret ray piercing its way thru a mirror!
I dream of this place
A place I call home;
A place where friends come together
And old souls are revived!
I come here this day
For the basking in this peace
To be reminded that I once was a part of this great place
When I was here
I wanted to leave,
But now I long to be apart of its serenity!
The twisted metal and olden wood,
Brought about together
And constructed into this magnificent, serene place.
Overlooking the river that, for many over the years,
Has put into a state of enchantment.
And I gladly admit, I too have been entranced!
It is a familiar place, a place where childhood dreams ignite!
As I sit here on the bank,
I whole heartedly come to realize,
That I, the man who was utterly, completely cold,
Do, in fact, secretly long for the warmth that I call, My Home!
I won't cry a tear this day,
But in my heart I am so sick,
And honestly, if I could take my pick,
I'd pull up one more trick and,
Go back to the place and time,
that makes my heart,
Surrender and again begin to tick
My memories of home!!
Not lost and not forgotten,
Only put away locked inside my unknowing mind
Resurfacing only in time that I need to be reminded
Where I'm from and who i am!!
HOME HOME HOME!!
