I lie in bed listening,
Not a sound can be herd,
No cars on the streets,
Or people on the kerb,
The night, full of stars,
With one shining bright,
Wonders abound on this Christmas night.
Will Saint Nick arrive?
In his chariot of red?
Reindeer pulling his Christmas sled?
Bells will be ringing,
Hooves will mark time,
As he delivers his gifts
One house at a time.
On his sleigh he can fit,
Without needing to stop,
All the gifts he requires,
During this one night's drop.
Sleigh bells will sound,
As he travels the Earth,
Searching for each of us,
To bring Christmas mirth.
Presents delivered to the Pole he returns,
His job, for now over,
A break well deserved,
Reindeer are fed & elves all are praised,
A glass of the good stuff he surely will raise.
