Reindeer play each year with Santa,
They glide, they walk, they run, they canter,
Once a year, they show their delight,
By taking to the air in flight.
December 24th is special,
We wait with anticipation,
Gathered together all as one,
We rejoice in celebration.
At midnight their hooves can be heard,
Upon the roof so white,
Bells that jingle softly,
Tell us Santa is in sight.
Down the chimney or through the door,
He magically transports,
The presents from your Christmas list,
Your parents, his cohorts.
Warm milk, biscuits & carrots,
You left for him to find,
He eats his fill & carries carrots,
For the reindeer he left behind.
They take him across the world,
All in record time,
Their coats & antlers gleaming,
They look, quite frankly, devine!
Home at last their work complete,
A rest so well deserved,
Their carrots eaten into bed,
Whilst Santa gets "preserved"!
