Skipping forward on my DVR at a time-lagged recording of the Abu Dhabi GP I'm (ironically) reminded of the highs and lows of this season.

Canada set the bar so high. Everything you could want from the sport, perhaps except for the protracted rain delay. But all the ensued was sheer adrenaline, and a deserved winner.

A dull affair then in Abu Dhabi. The championship resolved. An "artificial" track (aren't they all?), and a proper procession. The loss of Vettel on the first lap the only moment interest.

Next year the BBC will share broadcasting with sky. I suppose at least they'll cherry pick the best. But to enjoy those races properly I suppose you need the lows, to show the contrast.

So watch it I do.
