Now, not all life tools are acceptable! People, wearing shades on an overcast or rainy day is completely vain! There are, as always, several exceptions: classy middle aged women who wear them as a sporty hair accessory, someone who has an eye disorder of some kind, or has recently had some type of laser eye Surgery. Or, quite simply, someone hiding an embarrassing injury (however gained!).
Shades on a rainy / shady day = insecurity and a bad conscience. Shades on a rainy day do not look cool!
Remember Batfink?.........Aha...well there you go! "Your bullets cannot harm me, my wings are like a shield of steel" Anyhow, these (as stated in the nitty gritty of my blog) are simply my opinion! (....and countless other people who share the same view.....sorry!)
However, as a reasonably fair person, I have granted the Tom Cruise crew a slight reprieve!
Mind boring (as in "bore a hole"): Often when having a serious conversation with other people, usually on a one to one basis, I find myself thinking about them wearing crazy items such as a rubber "gagging" balaclava, or a viking helmet with small rodents (normally stoats) hanging off each horn! Why, I simply do not know, but the worst part is when, during the conversation (usually to do with life changing events or a serious career influence) you suddenly think, "good grief....they know what I'm thinking!". This folks, is the one and only time, shades on a rainy day would be acceptable.
fin :)
