With breakfast over and the dishes all washed up they now had to face the music. 'I think we should talk a few things through' he said solemnly. She nodded apprehensively but added 'Let's give ourselves an hour and a half then I'll take you out for a nice lunch' 'OK, good idea Kath' he said. 'Rule one. Don't call me Kath. Kathryn, Taffy or Kat but not Kath. That's an old lady's name' she said sternly. He raised his eyebrows and nodded 'Yes Miss'
They adjourned to the living room and he sat on the sofa with her sitting sideways but this time instead of just tucking her toes under his thigh she stretched her legs out across his. She loved touching him and he loved the feel of her body against his but now was the time to be serious. 'So where do we start?' he asked with a sigh. 'Your wife. We have to start with her.' said Kathryn. Graham nodded. 'I told her I was coming to you. I told her you were much younger than me....and her for that matter. That didn't go down well but I have to say that she didn't react as I expected. She was calm and that worries me' He looked at Kathryn sadly and told her how when he'd woken that morning he felt he should talk to his wife. He was surprised when Kathryn agreed. He'd expected her to want him to keep clear and he told her so. 'Graham, I'm going to say some things now that are probably inappropriate and ill timed but like you've said before, life is too short so here goes. From the first moment I laid eyes on you I was very attracted to you. In fact, I would go so far as to say it was love at first sight.' He smiled and she reached out for his hand. 'Graham, I am in love with you. The fact that you told your wife the truth means so much to me. I would hate to think you'd made an excuse or told a lie. I still can't believe you came here. You've effectively burnt your bridges to be with me and give this a go. However, I have a conscience and I'm concerned about your wife too. I don't know what your marriage is or was like but she deserves to be considered in all this.' He looked at her in wonder. 'Wow. You are amazing' He leaned over to her and without taking his eyes off her, he kissed her. 'Shall we go back to bed?' he whispered. 'Oh Graham, believe me, I want nothing more but we need to sort a few more things out first' He sighed, pursed his lips and said once again 'Yes Miss'
