She lay in bed staring into the darkness. What a day. She could hardly believe what had happened. She was beside herself with excitement but was terrified of being over affectionate. She so desperately wanted to be near him. The thought of him in the next room was driving her mad. It would come with time. 'Don't freak him out. He's just left his wife of over 25 years' She felt really sad about that but at the same time she was delighted that he'd made the choice to come to her. She closed her eyes and relived that kiss in the hallway again. The emotions of the day had tired her more than she realised and she soon fell asleep dreaming of Graham.
In the next room, he was lying awake too. His mind was racing. He was worried. Not that he'd done the wrong thing. Meeting Kathryn had given him the jolt he needed to realise that life was passing him by. No, he wasn't worried about being here with Kathryn even though he knew it was madness. He was worried about his wife and his reputation but mainly his wife. She'd been so calm when he told her that he'd met someone else. He didn't see the point in lying. It would only make things more difficult later. It was like she already knew but how could she? Unless she was relieved. Maybe she was fed up with him and pleased to see the back of him. Either way, it made him feel uneasy. The reputation thing, well that would be a flash in the pan. There'd be a few remarks about him trading in for a younger model and suspicions that he and Kathryn had been having an affair. He couldn't do anything about that but he was sensible enough to realise that he would come out of the other side of this with less friends but the ones he had would be more precious.

A logical thinker who has a creative side just waiting to be unleashed. Not quite sure how to free it though.
