Chapter 31: The Search for the Precious items
"We've arrived," the snake hissed.
"I want all of you to approach the palace but make sure you're not spotted. Also fetch me the summoner's book and wand, so that I can gain control of those angels," the Demon commanded.
The creatures headed towards the village making their way to the palace where Team Pandora was sleeping. The creatures spotted the two guards that were on patrol.
"Stop we need a plan," whispered the scorpion.
"Why can't we just get in there and take them down," the snake hissed.
"If they see us then the mission would be over. So we need someone who's small," the scorpion snapped.
The scorpion looked sharply through the creatures to see who would be good for the job. Then the scorpion saw fifty , small, hairy and eight legged widow spiders, with a drop of poison dripping from their fangs, bunched up in a group.
"Go and poison the guards you lot," the scorpion commanded while signalling with its tail.
The spiders scurried across the muddy ground making their way towards their victim.
The guards were too busy talking to each other that they didn't notice the spiders. The spiders crawled inside the guards' armour and seeped deadly poison through their skin. Soon the guards collapsed to the guard stone cold, while the spiders crawled back out.
Thousands of bats took off and fluttered around the windows to find out where the summoner was sleeping.
Sid couldn't sleep, he tossed and turned getting very agitated. A shadow rushed across the wall, Sid knew there was something up because another three shadows dashed across the wall. Sid leaped out of bed and hurried towards the arched window. He forced the curtains back to find lots of hairy bats fluttering around the palace.
"Lily wake up! The Dark Demon has sent his reinforcements towards the palace. He must knew where they are staying. Can you go and see if Jasmine's alright."
Lily climbed out of bed and wrapped her rosy pink gown around her then hurried down stairs to find if the others are alright.
Meanwhile Jasmine and the others were fast asleep. One of the bats found a window that was slightly open letting a slight breeze into the room. The hairy bat approached the room but then stopped to lick its fur and its silky wings dry.
The bat scanned the room to see where this magic book and wand was.
The bat spotted them high up on a desk that was nearby the bed but then he noticed Grizzly and Lola lying on the floor.
The bat felt something moving underneath him, it made the bat fall towards the ground and then got its wing stuck. The bat noticed that the creature was a beautiful Sagittarius.
The bat pulled with all his might, soon the wing popped out from underneath Sandy making the poor bat roll underneath the bed.
The bat muttered something under its breath while turning around to find Braxton and Sparrow glaring down with their bulgy eyes giving the bat a sudden fright. It felt like its heart was coming out of its mouth.
The bat breathed in through its nose and back out to calm itself down, when Braxton woke up and started to chatter it's teeth together. Rose woke with a startle then jumped out of bed to see what's wrong with Braxton.
The bat hid behind Sparrow so that Rose wouldn't see.
"Are you alright Braxton?"
"B...B...Bat," Braxton chattered.
"It's alright you just had a bad dream that's all. I'll go and shut the window for you."
Rose walked over towards the arched window and slammed the window shut while placing the latch across. Rose jumped back into the cosy warm bed then the bat used its hooks on its wings to quietly sneak to the top of the desk to claim the items.
When the bat reached the top it gripped on to the wand and book with its long nails on its feet, and then flapped its wings, heading towards the window.
The door burst open giving everyone a shock.
The bat thought that the window was open so when it approached the window. The bat smacked its head against the glass while dropping the items on to the red carpet.
Lily heard a thud and went to check it out. The bat hooked it's self behind the curtains hoping that no one would notice.
"Jasmine did you leave your book and wand by the window?" asked Lily.
"No I left them on the desk, how did they get over their?"
"Was the window open because we've got company, bats are flapping around the palace looking for these."
Rose interrupted the conversation, "Well Braxton said to me about a bat but I thought he was having bad dreams so I shut the window for him."
"Well done for you, you must of slammed the window before the bat escaped with the book and wand," Lily announced while placing her hand on the young child's shoulders.
"Rose grab your puppets and Jasmine here's your things. We must meet up with Prince Sid to fight these evil creatures away."
Everyone grabbed their stuff and hurried to meet Sid at the front door.
"The Dark Demon has located where you are staying and has sent his reinforcements to gain the magic book and wand. So we need to protect Jasmine at all costs," Sid said sternly.
"But bats are blind aren't they," Arthur said feeling confident.
"Actually they are not. They use a sonic wave that signals anything that's in front of them. They are clever species."
