The roses are red
From the blood that I shed
And my head is beginning to spin.
The violets were blue,
Expensive and new
A few weeks ago but now they're dead.
As I lie on my side
Tears streaming out of my eyes
Watching the red roses die too
My blue feelings seem everlasting
As my consciousness is passing
I'm so hungry from fasting
I want food.
And the blood continues to drip from my veins
Watching it fall upon the roses is making me insane
The yelling outside my door is inane
Like everything that I do.
I finally succumb
To the feelings of being numb
So I no longer feel dumb
Because the sleep overcomes
My consciousness.
And as I lay there on the floor
Staining the roses and the floorboards
With my blood as I continue to bleed
The blue violet's once pigmented color fades
As the darkness overcomes the day
Maybe tomorrow will be better for me.
