You say:
Do you love me?
I look at your worried eyes
And smile:
You are the sun in my morning -
Your warmth and heat revive me
You are the solid ground I walk on-
No matter where I'm going
My path lies with you.
The rain is you - you refresh...
Quench what I'm thirsting for
You have swept across
Every part of my body.
You are the wind at my back
Urging me forward, or as a breeze
Whispering in scented lulls
Running gently through my hair.
You are my storm, raging
At my selfishness and spite,
Razing my pettiness to the ground
And allowing my decency to grow
From the peace of my pieces.
You are the moon, my beloved moon;
Fascinating, exotic and hypnotic.
You change and bring about change
In me.
My seas - you are my seas!
You carry me away, so deep
And wet and salty, rising in waves...
Fathomless and mysterious
I plunge into you and am lost.
You put a finger to my lips
To tell me how I ramble on sometimes,
Then you say:
But DO you love me?
I say: my sunlight, my ground,
My rain, my moon, my breeze,
My storm, my seas...
Do you not see?
You are my world.
