Chasing Shadows

When joining this site I asked for inspiration and was granted an idea about chasing our own shadows. So here are my thoughts on what that means.

Like most things in life there are normally two sides to a situation. The positive side of chasing shadows reminds me of a day where my hubby and I where enjoying a lovely day at the beach making shadow puppets with our hands and eating ice cream. We took pictures of our body shadows waving and reminds me of lovely days with someone I love dearly. Warm fuzzy feelings of life circle my heart and I'm reminded of happy times.

Flip this feeling to the night time and its a different feeling entirely.

If like me you are a thinker you will understand the need to sometimes escape your own brain. The place you constantly find yourself. In your head. Your mind can have you chasing shadows where you fear your own company in a silent dark room. There is nothing to be physically afraid off, monsters do not exist, but people do. It's a different world in the dark, the night belongs to the animals. People should be asleep relaxing with loved ones, but there is no relaxing in my head. My brain will not let me relax until I know all is right in my world. One shadow out of place and ill not truly relax until its dealt with.

Me and my inner voice get on much better during the day. I try to sedate her
with red wine in the evening so she will let me sleep and worry about things when the sun comes back out.

If you read this....don't chase shadows at night....grab a camera and an ice cream and head to the beach....during the day!x
