We took the stairs two at a time, rushing to get out of there. We ran down the corridor at the top and went through the door at the end. The door led into a room that looked familiar to me. I had seen it before but I couldn't think of where. It was a large room, more like a grand hall. We came out beside a grand staircase. On the stairs and leading down on the floor towards the big door at the front was a plush red carpet. Hanging from the ceiling was a large crystal chandelier with all the candles lighting the room. We ran for the door. It was large and heavy, taking all three of us to push it open.
"Freya, look" Lampton said once the door had opened.
I did. I followed his gaze and saw what he saw. At the foot of the door were marble stairs which led to a large garden. The garden was not something I could come up with easily in my imagination, I had definitely seen it before. The colours were so vivid and the smells that hit me were distinctive but I could identify them. There was the slight hint of lavender fused in with the pungent smell of roses. Ah the rose garden. That I remembered the most, it was something I couldn't forget. I could see it, the rose garden, just past the healthy grass and the mini lavender field. Mostly I could see red roses but hiding behind them I knew there was all kinds. There were a few white and pink ones showing above the red if you looked in the right places. I still couldn't think of where I had seen this before, maybe in my dreams, but it was beautiful and the view was just perfect.
Lampton started laughing, he was remembering something too.
"We need to get out of here, Princess" Charming said, breaking me away from the beauty of everything.
I nodded then skipped down the stairs. Looking around I was starting to remember where everything was. If we went left that led us to the lake but if we went to the right it would lead us to the stables and that felt perfect to me. Running again made my heart race ten times more but as we made our way to the stables I felt like we was finally about to get away from Frogface. Finally about to get away, to go somewhere far away.
We barged through the side door of the stables. Someone was waiting for us there and he did not look happy. His brown hair was greying and his eyes were grey too. He had a scar on his bottom lip which gave him a menacing look and his arms were folded, telling us that he was not impressed.
"The king and queen want to see you" He said. His voice was grizzly, adding to the "don't mess with me" demeanour, and quite frankly the way he looked just at me scared me so much.
I nodded, I didn't want to get on the wrong side of him. "Okay" I replied, staring into his cold eyes.
