Countdown

Okay, so I've been waiting a couple weeks to post this poem. I wanted to post it tomorrow for the advent challenge but this is my 500th opuss so I thought, why not use this one? So here it is :) ...

Oh how your blue eyes shone tonight
When dusk turned to twilight
And the stars glimmered for you
Because they love your beauty too

I remember how you kissed me
How you made me finally see
Then I opened my eyes
And you were staring back at me

They started to count down
Not one person wore a frown
But that didn't matter to me
Because you were the one I could see

And when they got to one
When the night was finally done
You took me in your arms
Showered me with your charms

You kissed me right there
Under the moon's glare
And that was when I really found
That you was going to stick around
