Chapter 4 - Indy
Syrian's bar was only a little place on the 'rough' end of town. The main bar bit was a medium sized room at the front but that's not where we went. We knew Syrian well, okay I knew him well and the others just knew him because of me.
We were in the back room of Syrian's bar, it wasn't a big room, but none of the regulars went in there so it was like our own space.
The usuals were already here - Me, Coraline, Karl, Mac, Karen, Louise, Marshall, Duke and Rosie.
"I still can't believe Axton is coming here. Like here!" Rosie kept on repeating. She was quite excited, having never spoken to anyone remotely popular in her life.
That's when Axton came, of course, with two others flanking him like it was a rugby game or something. This made me smile.
I greeted them at a door. "Hey, glad you could make it" I smiled.
"I said I would" Axton smiled back.
"Yes, but this isn't your crowd or your sort of place" I smirked. Then added, "Anyway, hi, I'm Indy"
The other two boys smiled at me. I knew their names already. Bryce had braces and Mike had really unusual light brown eyes, they were Axton's best friends.
"Let's introduce you to everyone" I smiled, standing still. "Rosie's the one with the technicolour hair, she's been dying to meet you guys. The one next to her with the very short black hair is Karen. The guys at the pool table are Karl, Duke and Marshall. Karl's the blonde one, Duke is the really tall one and then Marshall's the short one. Then there is our last three, you know Coraline and Mac already and then that's Louise, she's got the body of one of your bimbos." I winked at Axton. "But she's really smart and she is a figure skater, a really good one too."
"More people than I thought." Bryce commented.
"That's because you didn't think I had any friends, Bryce." I winked at him. "You only thought I was friends with Mac and Coraline."
He blushed slightly, making the three of us laugh.
"It is okay you thought that" I added, trying to make him feel better. "most people do. Go mingle, I need to talk to Axton"
They did as I said, Bryce making his way to Rosie and Karen and Mike making his way to the pool table.
"So?" Axton asked.
"So what?" I replied.
"What do you think?" He asked.
I looked at him now. "Of what?"
He smiled. "Of them two. Of the note. Of us.." He let his voice trail off and I smiled.
"The note was lovely" I replied, leaving it simple, then took his hand and dragged him over to Mac, Coraline and Louise. They were talking about a competition that was coming up for Louise.
"You will be there right, guys?" Louise asked.
Me and Coraline nodded as Mac said, "Of course, babe. Have we ever missed one?"
Louise let out a little squeal of joy then planted a kiss on Mac's cheek as he wrapped his arm round her waist. It was true, we had never missed any of her shows or competitions. Plus, Mac and Louise have been going out for roughly 5 years now.
"Can I come?" Axton asked, making me smile.
"Um..." Louise said.
I laughed. "What is up with you and making my friends speechless? She doesn't mind people coming just as long as they do not distract her. Seeing as you have never been there before she doesn't mind" I smiled.
"When is it?" He asked.
"Saturday" Coraline added. "Before the competition they have time where you can skate. Indy would love for you to take her first."
Axton smiled at me now. "Your friends don't hold back, do they?" I shook my head, smiling. "It's a date then."
"Yeah, I guess so" I replied, smiling.
I had a date with Axton, the most popular guy in school. Who would've thought that? If no one was in the room then, they would not have believed me.
I had a date with Axton, just the thought of it made me shake.
