Our past watches on as we shout and we scream
Two lovebirds smile as we ruin the dream
A silent echo of happy times, a laugh caught in the moment
A lonely heartbroken sob, pleads an end to this torment
If the two strangers looking down at us
Could speak, they would turn their head in disgust
Never would they ever believe
That their heart's desire would be to leave
A time when every thought was for each other
Meandered into reprisals of being smothered
How can the two of us have been so wrong
Where did that boy I knew go, now the love is gone
We thought we had a love that would never die
It won't, it lives on in a photograph, they never lie.
