He arrived through my window one gloomy night,
With big black wings that gave me a fright,
I watched him fly about and slowly transform,
Into a gorgeous male who was cold, not warm.
"I've come to claim you, young, beautiful girl,
Please do stand and give me a twirl?
I've flown for miles and searched high and low,
Looking for a bride with a beautiful glow."
My eyes were so wide and my jaw dropped to the floor,
As I watched his fangs grow an inch more.
A vampire? Here? In this little town?
I shook my head in disbelief and wore a stern frown.
"of all of the girls that you could've chose,
You decided to pick an English rose?
I'm telling you now I won't take no crap,
You may wanna change your mind perhaps?''
He laughed and flashed me a smile with charm,
"my dear I will not bring you any harm,
This life I lead is so very lonely,
I've searched to find my one and only.
I won't feed from you or suck you dry,
I just need a companion to help me get by"
I sat and I pondered while he stood by my chair,
Rubbed my eyes to make sure he was there.
This vamp could be a beautiful dream,
Stood in my room or so it seemed.
I walked up to him and studied his lips,
Wondered what he'd be like to kiss.
"ok, what I'll do is give you a trial,
I hang out with you for a short while"
The vamp smiled wide and bowed to his knees,
I'd made his century, filled it with glee.
"my lady you've made me a happy man,
I will care for you the best I can"
He scooped me up in those big wide arms,
Fluttered his eyes, and threw me some charm.
As we took off and flew through the night,
I looked down below at the beautiful sight,
Maybe I should have been more cautious, you may think me mad
But a vampire bride might not be so bad.
