I agree! Constructive criticism is welcomed and should be given to improve the author. Hate isn't needed nor wanted. You should read the comments in @Vicky post titled "unexpected #2" very shocking and distressing!!

Thanks... :-) @smellyfingers why criticise at all when there is so much to enjoy, in life there are those who consider themselves better than others, in Opuss, we're all doing the same, trying to express our thoughts and feelings... Unfortunately, negativity is likely to rear its ugly head, even here, but instantly recognised it means very little...

@smellyfingers Oh! And I agree that word "h***" isn't even in my vocabulary, it usually represents something cancerous within, rather than useful expression

@Barknbite no I said constructive criticism, if everybody say "very good" "brilliant" ect then altho that's nice, how will others and me included improve? I agree just posting "crap" is totally pointless and stupid. Some people are sensitive on opuss, if I was to say "you spelt that wrong" or "a certain section didn't rhyme too well" then I would get slated for it. Kissing arse seems to be the way on opuss!!

Completely unnecessary & good for you in taking such a positive attitude😉 And yeah, like @smellyfingers says, for some REALLY hideous comments, check out the post he mentions. There's always going to be a few scattered about unfortunately😔 so ignore, keep writing & keep 😄😃😄!

I agree too. Constructive criticism is good but some people find any criticism hard to take. I was shocked by some of the comments written on Vicki's post too @smellyfingers the problem is that some people find respect on Opuss where they may find elsewhere and that's hard to lose. By the way, it's not that people don't have the courage to comment on back scratching, it's that they know it will only cause bad feeling and don't want that! We need more posts like this one.

I mean, I'll be quite honest @Vicki I've read your work and it's just not for me I'm afraid, but there's no way I'd even dream up sick stuff like that! Yes we're all entitled to an opinion, but that stuff does no good to anyone, anywhere. Not even her! 😊

Wow @Vicki, those comments must have been a bit of a shock. Reading between the lines my guess is that person has some serious issues. It was my experience that it happened rarely and I'm sorry if this isn't the case for everyone. I still think generally compared to some of what goes down on Facebook and twitter more regularly Opuss does quite well though. Thanks @smellyfingers @Barknbite @Fly10 @crowncottage @sjw @ckahn and @leelee101 for your comments.

@Clairabethy my thoughts exactly, there's def care in the community issues there.. I think readers and writers tend to have more empathy and that type of ignorance among them is rare.. Keep up the good work 👍

@Fly10 I know but to be fair seamonster dealt with it and she hasn't come back at me since

@Clairabethy definitely shocking considering I'd been away from opuss for a few days and came back to find that. She really does have issues I've read some of her work and I think she's on another planet, the way she writes is seriously messed up
