Day begins,
Just like any other,
I'm a young girl,
Experimenting with style,
Day moves on,
And I'm oblivious,
As passing rumours,
Reach the surface.
Lunchtime hits,
The feeling sinks in,
As your friends fill you in,
How your the gossip that's spreading round,
And your back becomes a target,
To every passing eye,
Like a little lamb in the corner,
Nearly ready for its slaughter.
They sit up on pedestals,
So they can judge you one by one,
They throw around your self esteem,
It's their daily exercise routine,
Because you're different,
You stand out,
So don't you dare sink back into the crowd.
And I told myself it's fine,
Just some insecure girls,
Who need to tear me down to build them up,
But the one who told the news,
Is suddendly turning on you,
Telling you everything they said,
Was Absouetly correct...
What do you say,
When you're called,
Every single bad word you've thought about yourself,
In front of everyone you know,
And hold dearly to you?
I didn't put you on a pedestal,
So you could judge me,
Don't push my self esteem,
It's already lowering,
I know I'm different,
Didn't mean to stand out,
But now I'm never going back into the crowd.
