I like it😊it's very true, but sadly I think it stems from insecurity issues caused by some men being heartless bastards for so many century's.😉

Good point. Perhaps they would argue back that freedom to do as they please is their expression of feminism? Good debating point, well done.

@Stablish yeah, I think that fact that most men value the external package rather than what's inside. It's created a society where it's ok to be dumb and pretty

@naaviie but do they really have freedom? Look at how society judges those who choose to express themselves in alternative ways (eg goths) and then ask yourself if women are really free

@RichWithey Personally I'm not bothered, but in my town there are a lot of blokes who believe entirely in the philosophy " treat em rough get your muff". It was enough to stop me wanting to go out drinking in town. Small town mentality sucks, Too much hate and ego involved.😔

@RichWithey I'm not saying women are blameless. They can be the harshest critics of other women. But really, I think it's all about getting male attention and while men will say they don't like all the fakery, you go to any club and the women getting all the (wrong kind of) attention are the orange skinned, half naked ones. I guess it's because (some) men think they are easy?

And they are only like that because of issues those men have got and are to afraid to fight them. So they just spew a load of shite, unfortunately from what I've seen quite a lot of woman put up with being treated like crap. Because of issues in themselves they can't fight. If that makes any sense at all. It's just a vicious cycle. In my opinion. But I guess that is only in some groups of society.

@RichWithey heh I was a goth too! Good times. I will agree that men have some pressure (more these days) to be like shop mannequins but I still think its worse for women. The amount of children of 6-7 years old who think they are fat, not pretty etc is testament to the pressure women face to look 'perfect'

And I'm not saying its only women who are effected, but look at the way that society treats intelligent, independent women...

Think feminism is still around we may not protest or go on hunger strikes but I still feel women have advanced hugely in recent years, I do agree however we are still not seen equal to our male counterparts but I still believe things like this take time like any other prejudice. While women may be looked at in a different light when revelling 20+ years ago you wouldnt have seem female mechanics or plumbers. Even the judiciary has rising females roles and there not just admin. so I agree but disagree at the same time I don't believe feminism is dead.

It's all about how you see things I suppose. Sadly I've spent to long noticing the bad things. Thankfully Opuss has really showed me that I'm not the only one who is sick of the way the world is going.

I think this is a great point of debate, and you will share your opinion with plenty of other people. Personally, I think if someone wants to wear makeup, pale makeup, orange makeup, tight clothes, baggy clothes, bleach their hair, due it black... Let them - as long as they are doing it for themselves, totally agree with you that it shouldn't be for the opposite sex. Great point for debate! :)

@Irrational_Kimmi just because people are judged doesn't mean they aren't free. They are free to be affected by the views of others, or to ignore them completely.

So overall we're all saying that individuals have the choice. I dont like blaming 'society' because I think that it is individuals that need to be strong and change their own opinions/judgements of others - that is what will change society.
