I never lie;
The scarred
And ruined
Image
Before you,
A once
Hopeful girl,
Now a desolate
Woman
Who is
Tiring of
The world
And it's
Constant
Struggle,
Is the
Truth.
Complexion,
Once
Youthful,
Now withered,
Weathered,
Laughter
Lines now
Hang like
The ropes
Of a noose,
Naive eyes
Now a faded
Grey-blue,
No smile
Will ever stretch
The muscles,
Skin and lips
Again,
Deep furrows
Of tears
Permanently
On cheeks,
No blush,
No glow,
Just hollow,
Sallow,
And you can
See the marks,
The scars,
Of every
Heartbreak,
Loss, failure,
And disgrace.
The mirror
Never lies,
But what
Your eyes
Choose to
See
Is up to you
Entirely.
