Alone in the dark I don't have to be me,
I can fly with the seagulls far out to sea,
Or hunt with the eagles on mountains and moors,
And lay with the driftwood on tropical shores.
Alone in the dark I'm handsome and strong.
I'm saving the world from all that is wrong.
I'm the bravest of knights on a dapple grey mare.
I can be what I want, as long as I dare.
Alone in the dark my pain goes away,
And here in the dark I'm happy to stay,
But what will I do when my dreams are all gone.
Who will I be when the light comes back on.
