Chapter 10
I woke to the sound of screaming… My screaming. My mouth closed, but the sound didn’t stop, I could hear the screaming in my head. I saw Jason, his pale face shocked and wet from crying. He grabbed my hand and sat next to me. Was I dead? It felt likes hours of endless pain before it stopped… Just like that. All the pain was gone.
I sat up, feeling dizzy. Where was Jason? Please be here. I was in my room, the one at Jason’s house. He must have carried me in here. I got up and made my way downstairs. Jason sat on one of the kitchen chairs, facing the wall.
“Jason?” I whispered. His spun around fast and I saw that his eyes were bloodshot. Had he slept? Jason…
“Please tell me this is real” He replied.
“You tell me, is it?”
“I think so” I hope this is real, I can’t be dead.
“What happened?”
“You’ve been like that for a week” How?
“Like what exactly?” He frowned.
“In pain, I had to come down here. I couldn’t stand it”
“It’s alright, it doesn’t hurt now” I said softly. This had to have been hard for him. Why did I have to do this? I’m such a bad person.
“Thank god” He whispered. Jason got up and walked over to me before hugging me tightly.“You’re actually alive”
“Yeah. Wait…A week?”
“Yeah” He pulled away from me.
“Wow” He looked at my hand… More like stared at it. What was wrong with him? He grabbed it and I saw what he saw. Massive lines like scratch marks. He pushed the arm of my shirt up to my shoulder. Wow. It was awful… Massive red marks. “Ouch” I squeaked. Pain shot up my arm. Like knives. Excruciating pain. I dropped to the floor, but I didn’t scream.
“Oh my god. This cannot happen now” Jason said. He couldn’t do anything. I felt strange. That’s when I realised I wasn’t human anymore…
“Oh god” I said. Wow this was creepy. Where’s Jason? I was just about to turn around when I fell. What the hell? I couldn’t even walk on four legs. Ughhh. I got back up again and this time managed to turn around where I found Jason stood there.
“Wow” He said.
“This is weird. How do I change back?” He smiled sympathetically.
“You don’t, not for at least 24 hours”
“You’re kidding right? It didn’t take you 24 hours”
“Did the first time” Oh god! So I’ve got to stay like this for 24 hours?
“Ughhh. How do I even walk?” All of a sudden he changed into a wolf. Wow this is going to take some getting used to.
“Like this” He padded across the room. I tried to follow but fell again. “Try again” I did and succeeded. Yay! Finally.
“I did it”
“You did” I practiced it over and over again until I was close to a pro at it.
“You can go back to your human form if you like” I said.
“I’ll stay like this with you. It might make you feel better” Awwww…
“You don’t have to” My meaning was ‘yes stay like this so I don’t feel weird on my own’.
“I want to” He walked up to me slowly. “Do you want to go to sleep?” Oh my gosh yes!
“Might kill time” I replied.
“Yes” We walked upstairs and lay on my bed. It was warm and comfy with Jason there. Plus I was a wolf now so I had a lot of unnecessary fur.
“Being a wolf is creepy” I complained.
“It’s not half bad actually” Well I could get used to it, but being a human is a lot better.
“Will you teach me how to do things when I’m a wolf?”
“Sure”
“Thanks”
“Now just go to sleep” And I did…
