I examined the labels on each box, wanting to unpack in a certain order. I found the box that was labeled 'Bed and Bedside' and ripped the tape off. Dad came and helped me assemble different things, like my black and gold wrought iron bed frame.
I was exhausted by the time I was done. I was also hungry. My parents and I went to a fancy restaurant so I could have a special Birthday dinner.
Afterwards, we went back home. When we entered our house, it was the first time I had realized that everything was already unpacked and set up; the moving people that we hired really helped us settle in.
I laid back on the couch, being lazy, when I heard my parents singing the Happy Birthday song. As they entered, they carried a chocolate cake with seventeen candles. Mom must have baked it while I was in the woods with werewolves. The thought of it made me giddy.
"Blow out the candles and make a wish!" Mom said with a smile. As I blew, I wished to see the werewolf boys again. "What did you wish for?" Dad whispered to me. "It's a secret," I said with a zipping motion across my lips. Indeed, it was.
We all walked up the staircase to our rooms. Before departing, we said our goodnights and sweet dreams. I walked into my room and set my Birthday presents on my dark oak dresser. I got a laptop from Dad and a whole new outfit, including shoes, from Mom.
I laid under my fluffy purple covers and thought about my new friends. First thing straight, they were all undeniably hot. It made everything more troubling. What if I fell in love with all of them? Then what? I would have to choose, that's for sure. For some reason, though, I could only see myself with three of them—Cole, Hart, and Flint.
Just then, I heard a tapping at my window. I got up to see what it was. When I pulled the curtains back and opened the window, I peered down and saw Hart standing on my lawn. "What are you doing here?" I called down to him, quiet enough so that my parents wouldn't hear me. "You forgot your bike. I put it on the porch," he called back, mimicking my noise level. "Oh, yeah, thanks!" I said. "May I come up?" he asked. "Um, I don't know h—" I began to say but stopped when he swiftly climbed up the lattice.
I moved out of the way and he swung himself through the window and into my room with utter soundlessness. I gawked at him and he chuckled at my expression. "Nice room," he commented. "Thanks," I shrugged.
"Ya know, I've been thinking a lot about you guys since this afternoon," I admitted. "About me, too?" he asked and took a step forward; he was right in front of me, now. "Yes, actually," I said with a smirk. Many ideas ran through my, and possibly his, mind of what exactly what we would do that night.
