James wandered through the dark, cold woods, off in his own world. He always loved the woods.. It was so quiet... And peaceful. He stared up at the beautiful moon, shining on his face. As a small child, the moon was his only friend. He was alone. He had nobody but his crippled, ill mother, and his best friend rayne. The image of her went through his head. Long, chocolate brown waves, bright blue eyes.. She was beautiful. She was at their tiny house, caring for his mother while he took a stroll in the woods. He breathed in, trying to demolish the ball in his throat. He knew his mother was dying. Rayne had no where else better to be, she lived with her uncle. Her mother was in rehab, her father was killed in an accident two years before. Uncle Greg could care less about where Rayne was. So she stayed with him, helping him care for his mother on her last few weeks. He continued to wander, lost in thought. For an hour he wandered, lost in thought. He paused, listening carefully. Distant, low howls. He stood, listening.
Silence. He turned around, deciding to head back, just to be safe. There was another howl, this time it sounded like it was meters away. James broke into a run. He heard the pounding of paws, and growls behind him. His lungs began to burn, his body tiring. He was screwed. He tripped over a root, falling over. He squeezed his eyes shut, waiting to be torn apart. There was a moment of silence. He slowly opened his eyes. The big black wolf sat in front of him, continuing to growl quietly. He and the wolf stared at each other for a moment. Slowly, he sat up further, gently putting his hand towards the beast. The wolf shied away, baring it's teeth. James stood up. The wolf growled angrily. What did it want? "So.. Are you planning on killing me? Or can I go home?" The wolf's growls got louder. It leaped, knocking the wind out of him as he landed on his back, the wolf dug it's teeth into his wrist, blood dripping from it's teeth. James let out a scream of agony, as his blood oozed all over the ground, shining black under the moonlight. The pain was ridiculous. He thought of Rayne, and his mother. They still needed him. He gathered all the strength, and stumbled through the woods, cursing and screaming in pain.
Slowly, he found his was home, stumbling in the door, fuzzy from the loss of blood. It was quiet. If he was lucky, they were asleep. He slipped his shoes off, clutching his wrist. "James?" A voice called quietly. Rayne stepped out quietly from the living room. James stood there, mesmerized by her beauty. Her eyes widened when she saw his bloody arm. "What the hell happened?" She whispered, pulling him upstairs so his mother could sleep in peace. They put her bed in the living room, so she could stat with everyone, and everyone could move freely around her. James barely heard what she was saying on the was to the bathroom. His ears rang, his vision blurred.
Before he could realize it his face was in the carpet. Rayne's warm hand touched his face, eyes full of concern. She was saying something. He couldn't hear her. He closed his eyes, drifting into unconsciousness.

I'm 15. I love creative writing. I've read fantasy all my life, fascinated and in love with the new characters and worlds I've explored. I'm a total nerd, and english is by far my favorite class in school. I get kind of depressed sometimes, so I write it out. I just love it. Throwing on music and getting lost in my stories, worlds, creations... Ooh, and I follow back! Please leave comments, I love to hear what you think, & your ideas:) hope you enjoy my dark little worlds and characters..
