"OMG EM!!" Heather screamed through text.
I was in a group iMessage with Sally, Paul, and Heather, telling them about the things going on with Jason.
"He's soooo cute" I texted, smiling slightly.
Paul had yet to reply.
"I bet, u guys sound so adorable."
My smile grew.
Then, Paul took it upon himself to reply, finally.
"He has a girlfriend btw
You have no chance"
I gasped, staring at my phone.
Then, I tried to rationalize.
"Em...I really don't see you and jason working out...I'm sorry"
Heather and Sally stayed silent.
Why was Paul saying this? Why?
Then, Heather texted me separately.
"I think he's lying, em" she said. "I think he just doesn't want you to like Jason"
"Why?" I replied.
I wasn't too hurt. I didn't like Jason too much to cry or anything. And I was still in love with Paul.
"Because deep down, maybe he does feel something for you".
I knew that was ridiculous. And I did know that like me, Jason had a best friend of the opposite sex. They'd been dating on and off.
It was definitely possible for him to have a girlfriend.
But then why the sudden attention? None of it made any sense.
Then Paul realized what he'd said and he felt so bad. And I didn't care that much. I decided to push Jason out of my mind.
Little did I know that that would be impossible.

Writing is my life. Forever. I want to be an author when I grow up. I write all the time. When I'm happy, sad, angry...it's an escape. Oh, and I love green hearts. I absolutely love them.
