Necromancer Prologue

Moonlight shone on the calm waters of the river Styx, illuminating a small basket, bobbing slowly along. Inside the basket? A baby, wide awake, seemingly unperturbed by the lack of comfort from a mother. The princess, sighted the basket, and willed the river to bring it closer. She was not, as you may have been wondering, a princess of this world. She knew who this baby was, what he was, where he had come from, why he was here, and what he was destined to do. Interesting, she thought, lifting the basket from the river, he could almost be the baby moses, and she the princess ............ How cliched.

She kept the baby for a week until, inevitably, it was stolen, her family killed in a bloody battle to defend it against the servants of the night. The baby was entrusted to her most loyal servant, after which the baby changed hands, for a year at most, protected from the forces of evil each time by stunning acts of bravery, courage, and extraordinary strength.

Eventually, the baby wound up in a care home, and then in the hands of a couple who knew nothing about the real history of their new child. Whom they named Samuel. 'Samuel' grew, always an outsider due to his rather strange personality, but soon the time would have to come when the boy would have to complete his destiny...

@bop365 Good :)

Very good

@bop365 Good, I always get excited when I read a prologue and its goo like this :3

@glensaggs @CuriousCat thanks guys

!

@bop365 Your welcome! And I meant good not goo :s

It's not the best I ever read, but I've read sooo many prologues that it's hard to have the best prologue. I'm not saying your prologue was bad, I really liked it, and it was exactly the way a prologue should be, if you ask me. You kinda want to read the next part as fast as possible...

@bop365 I like the sound of this! And thank you so much for tagging me in this to read! Only thing I'd say is watch your use of commas, there's a couple in there that break up the story rather than just letting it flow, but otherwise good work! I look forward to reading more! Is the 'how clinched' a typo though? Please let me know when more is up! :)

@shanwan Ok, thanks! It doesn't say "how clinched" though! The 1st bit is up, I will tag you!
