Last Dance

If I could somehow have,
A final day with you
I wonder where we'd go...
I wonder what we'd do?

There'd be things I'd want to ask,
And truths I'd want to know,
About the actions it's thought you took
That hurt so many so.

But I don't think I would inquire,
I think I'd bite my lip,
And let the truth go with you...
As from this world you'd slip.

Instead I'd want to laugh...
And spend it like before,
In a giggle filled embrase,
As across the room we'd soar.

Yes, I think if I was given
A precious final chance,
I'd spend it making memories...
With a beautiful last dance.

The joy of many escapes so few, To what we cling on to, The sound of a loved one calling our name, The smell that initiates a nerve of remembrance, How so many angels are removed from this earth.

The Loss Of Lives

The loss of lives, A pity state. A turning stone, A brand new plate. We say goodbye, We turn our heads. We pray at night, In our soft beds. The nightmares swirl, The memories coil.

To You Who Is Still In My Heart

You know, I could hardly help it. You were there, and now you're not. Unspoken words and sidelong glances, Your presence gone left a missing friend. I'm not a person from the perfect songs.

You took my hand. You showed me how. You promised me you'd be around. Uh huh. That's right. I took your words. And I believed. In everything. You said to me. Yeah huh. That's right.

Gorgeous 💚

Stunningly beautiful work😌

@Fly10 Aww thankyou! I wasn't sure about posting this as it has complicated emotions and memories attached but I'm glad I did now :)

When you develop a piece that stirs those feelings, they often end up being the most powerful I find. Often afterwards, there's a sense of release too. It came across beautifully in this 😌

This is a beautiful heartfelt poem...one I can identify with...writing it down can truly help...I always feel like a weight has been lifted once I've written it down...THANKYOU for sharing this 😃😃

@Fly10 @misslittleDHP Thankyou so much guys :) It's been a long hard journey 'getting over' this and I don't think I ever will fully but maybe through writing this I've inadvertently found a way to help process my feelings. I love Opuss :)
