What He Had

As he watched the glare of the sun on the water, he listened to the once sweet melody of the lapping waves against rocks.
His heart going through an excruciating battle.
He fights to keep his cheeks dry and head high but hurt and sorrow drown his happiness.
The water was their place to escape to one another.
He stopped short and instead of thinking about what he lost, he remembered what he had.
Her laugh, made him laugh himself.
Her smile could brighten up the darkest room.
When she was near, he could feel her love for him radiating off her body.
Her soft hands so small and cold in his.
Her waist, so perfect, warmed in his arms.
As tears subconsciously flooded his face he smiled. Both melancholy and happy at the same time he realized how lucky he was. He knew what he had was one of a kind. He felt like the luckiest boy in the world to have been so close and that there was once a time where he could call her his before she was taken to heaven.

I Remember

I remember the way you looked at me in the early morning light. I remember the way you kissed me under the moonlit night. I remember the way you kissed my cheek when I was feeling sad.
