Sort of inspired by Marvin Gayes song Distant Lover
Another night I lay here as sleep eludes me. Reminiscing about that summer, our summer, we talked away hazy days and made love long into balmy moonlit nights
There was not a thought or inch of each others bodies that we hadn't explored. We we're closer then any two souls could ever be.
My mind entices me in to memories that both release and encage me.
I close my eyes and let them engulf me
The heady delight of butterflies as our lips met, the feel of your hands caressing, my body yielding to your every touch.
The heat of desire moving through my body I turn to you and am brought back to the realty of the empty space in the bed beside me.
Distant lover.... My soul longs for you, my heart weeps for you, my body aches for you...
But here I lie in this bed alone while you're with someone else making your happy home.
Day and night I go through the same thing, my heart pleads why, why aren't you with me?
Promises were made, plans for our eternity
Then plans started to crumble and hope began fading.
Baby can't you please tell me how it all went wrong?
How did we end up with this distance between us?
A future planned so perfectly, how could I lose, but you have my heart you have all of me and all I have are these treasured memories.
Distant lover.... My soul longs for you, my heart weeps for you, my body aches for you...
But here I lie in this bed alone while you're with someone else making your happy home.
Day and night I go through the same thing, my heart pleads why, why aren't you with me?
