A good friend of mine is rather forgetful. One summer she mentioned to her husband that she would need a lift into town to pay a cheque into the building society. She carried on with housework but then her husband said "if you want that lift we will have to leave at once." she grabbed her bag and rushed out to the car. When they got to the high street in town, her husband asked her to jump out and make her way to the building society while he went off to park. As the car disappeared into the distance, she looked down and realised that, along with the shorts she was wearing, she also still had her bedroom slippers on. The main problem, she felt, was that they were the type with fur all round the top! Not perfect footwear in midsummer. Although she has problems with short term memory, she does have a good imagination. Her solution? She started to limp.
In case you wonder, this is a true story.

I also know someone who has the same problem as your friend and they go shopping and she always forgets what she came for.
