The first time you hear that song,
You know that together you belong.
Who is this song by, what is it's name?
To find that song becomes your aim.
When you hear that song for the second time,
You admire how well it's lyrics rhyme.
You listen intently to the DJ,
Hoping that it's name he will say.
By the third play of that song, you've found it online,
You tell yourself that "this song will be mine."
You're obsessed with that song, keep hitting replay,
Sit back and listen as the hours while away.
It's the tenth play now, you know every chord,
Yet slowly, steadily, you're becoming bored.
Familiarity breeds contempt,
Of that song your ears are empt.
You forget that song which you did learn,
No more for it's sound do you yearn.
Then you hear it again after many years,
And once more bliss is brought to your ears.
This time, when you hear that song,
You know that together you belong.
You know who it's by, you know it's name,
To remember that song becomes your aim.
