Children, job, and still stand tall.
Can we juggle all the balls and keep them in the air?
Or we just stressing ourselves out, pulling our hair.
Does feminism today, still have its place?
Is Germaine Greer still it's famous face?
Is The Female Eunuch still the defining text?
Or have we just regressed to being objects of sex?
Women are from Venus, men are from Mars.
Have we moved on from burning our bras?
Will we ever truly have equality?
Equal rights and equal pay.
Has feminism got an updated modern face?
Are we sisters together in this never ending rat race?
Could JK Rowling be a new role model?
Or another media WAG spouting twaddle.
I would like my daughter to grow up strong
To understand intelligence and independence isn't wrong.
I want her to see there is more than just looks
That its ok to study hard and read books
But if media continue to tout false perfectionism
I doubt there'll be room for future feminism.

@leelee101 thank you. It's probably because I'm going back to work soon, when you think what's the point. But the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Also sick of no high profile role models for girls in magazines and tv programmes. Grrrrrr

I've just had a piece published, and when I first heard it was gonna happen, I was naturally overjoyed and set about telling everyone. But the dickhead I told at work just lifted his leg in the air and farted loudly. How d' ya like them apples? 😢 But I've since twitted him round the head with the book containing my piece. Seriously. ❤ Don't let them drag you down. Keep at it. Who knows what'll happen? 🌹
