She's Got A Ticket To Ride

I'm away on my travels
Will hardly post
I'll try to read as that's what I do the most

I'm off to a city so hot and fine
A city where I love to explore, chat and dine

It's one of the worlds oldest and interesting cities
Birthplace of democracy and committees

The first place I'll head when I get off the plane
The souvlaki shop and maybe later a little champagne

To celebrate times with a lifelong friend
We don't get as much time together as we'd like to spend

Where am I off to, are you able to guess
Home of philosophy and the Gods excess

There will be plenty to inspire me, that you can be sure
Poseidons Temple and the Nymphs allure

I'll be back in a week and I hope to share
Some poetic pieces I wrote whilst there
