My Child

You are the only person
Who's heard the constant rhythm of my heart
You know how it sounds from deep within
That heart that loved you from the start

Never will a day go by
Without me loving you every minuet
A thousand years after the day I die
You will still be able to count on it

You formed and grew inside of me
I felt your every move and kick
Your face I couldn't wait to see
I loved the feeling of you even when I was sick

I pray I can be all the mom you need
I hope I never let you down
This is my promise and my creed
To do my best to never let you frown

My wish for when you are as old as me
Is that you and I are the best of friends
I hope that you are above all happy
And remember a helping hand is what mama lends

I have published a few single poems. 2012 I published my first poetry book, Ode to Melancholy. This is sold at www.blurb.com. It is a collection of the poetry I wrote as a teenager. I am currently working in my second book.

Overwhelmed.

I love the way you stare into my eyes and give me a cheeky smile. I love your soft skin next to mine for you I would go that extra mile. I love the way you play with my hair even when it's pulling.

My Baby

Just looking at your face. I know my life is in place. Just your sweet sweet smell. Reminds me from heaven you fell. To give birth to wonderful you. Tells me life will never be blue.

Greeted With A Smile.

I missed every essence of you all the cute things you do. I missed your smiling eyes even your night time cries. I missed your button nose and your ten little toes.

My Mother's Hands

One of my few attempts at non-rhyming (more towards free-verse) poetry. I don't know what drips from my mother's fingers while she sleeps.

Mini You

I'm so sad that after all these years, You've never had a mini you. A woman so nice, And a man so kind. Why. I ask the Good Lord, Why may these two never have a happy child.
