What Happened?

Do you remember when you were a kid and imagination reigned free?

Where nothing was more exciting than climbing next door's tree.

Before MySpace, Bebo Twitter and Facebook,

Before learned grown up things like what and how to cook.

The biggest drama was when there was no more red ice pops,

That turned into being arrested by the cops.

When exactly did we get so big?

So emerged in Chemistry and Trig.

Where did the land of imagination go?

Did it go quick, did it go slow?

We were so excited to be adults,

Focusing on SATs and GCSEs to get good results.

We should have revelled in it and taken the time,

Sod the fact that I'm responsible with a job and bills to pay, see that tree next door? That's the one I'm going to climb.
