I travel throughout the earliest hours of the day, starting, if I can manage, before the sun rises. I stop at the suns high point, assuming I am lucky enough to have a partially clear sky. I do this for two reasons. The first is safety. You are far more likely to encounter others in the afternoon hours, especially during warmer seasons. The second is For allowing time to locate and set up a secure place to sleep, preferably indoors. I can count on one hand how many times that has happened. Also this time allows for the construction of any traps or snares I can set, environment permitting.
