If you were served a burger made of non specific meat
Would you bother even asking what's been killed to make your treat?
If you scoffed it all with gusto, not a crumb left on your plate
Would you really be that bothered, would you mind the sources fate?
Say I ran a restaurant, and I told you I used horse
I wouldn't be surprised if you weren't eating your main course
On the other hand if I didn't say a word
Would you really care if it was Shergar, cow or bird
Using nags instead of beef and fully knowing what you've done
Is rotten and it's wrong, you deserve all you get my son
There's clearly no control to what gets into the food chain
And the chances are we've eaten geegees time and time again
It is the moral issue which sticks deep inside our throats
If it was mentioned on the menu we'd all be asking for our coats
Now someone's spilled the beans, headlines are full of this
When only weeks before it seemed that ignorance was bliss
I know full well that horsemeat's more than likely passed my lips
And if I don't know, I'm good to go. I'll have mine with chips...

Did you know that over 60% of retired racehorses get sent to slaughter, I saw a program the other day about it, I'll never bet on a horse again 😃☕☕☕☕✈
Can't understand why/horses are cheaper though?.. If its (dis)organised crime involved at some level, chances are that far worse has been used, including contaminated meat or waste etc...
Ikea meatballs 😱😱😱latest discovery tbh I'm not that bothered although I do have an issue with being lied to
At times like this am glad I don't eat meat. And not in uk now😁 but my issue though would be being lied to
@sarahgamal @tetti2 that's what I said, I think it's more about bring lied to. But are you glad the truth is out now or would you prefer to live in ignorance?
@tetti2 that's right it's the lying issue that's done it. But ikea meatballs? Oooo get in! 😂 Thanks for reposing Terri 👍😘🐴🍟🍴
@chy glad, yes. Happy, no. But again that's my point of view from another country. Not sure how would I feel if I was in UK
There's fairly strict passport restrictions on legal meat.. On illegal dodgy meat there isn't, the variety of the animal is the least of the worries 😳
Well I buy my meat from the butchers and make my own burgers and I've never been more glad that I do. On the very rare occasion that I've had a burger from mcds I can't remember tasting any meat in there at all 😬
Well I suppose it is neigh on impossible that there aren't any fast food producers that haven't been touched by this scandal... 😊
Here in Finland, chefs of the finest fine dine resraurants commented this topic with "Well, horse meat is healthier than pork or beef, and it tastes better." :D
I don't do processed or packaged food I know exactly what goes in my meals but maybe I've had it in a restaurant 😳 like you say it's the deception that's the problem and I wouldn't be surprised if the government have been kept in the loop! 😘👏
I'm like you @sjw. I don't buy processed meat or ready meals. I don't even do fast food. I'm a total food nazi with the kids. But good write however, if you pay peanuts you get monkeys don't you. Mmmm maybe that's the Chinese take out. 😳
@eddie12309 that's true you get what you pay for with food I'd rather have less quality food than loads of cheap stuff I'm a nazi too I don't do additives or preservatives either I like fruit and veg to be odd shaped not all uniformed and able to withstand a nuclear war 😳😂
@sjw @eddie12309 I'm afraid we do, but not much. We're too busy working to do anything but! 🐴 @sjw thanks for reposting Sie 👍😘❤
@Limea no one here knows what it tastes like anyway! It's just the lies they've been told that's upsetting people 👍👍😘
@leelee101 I know that people don't like the fact that the packages don't tell about the true contents.. But i'm seriously amused by all the "horse meat madness" in my own country for example. These people normally don't read the ingredient-texts, they don't care whether the food's produced by slaves in Africa or child workers or how much water is wasted etc... Well I hope atleast some people start doing so after this horse-thingie😊
